I was just wondering what are the biggest numbers that can go in the 12x24
slot...

12x24 is an actual font name on your computer. You may be thinking that you're specifying some sort of dimension that xt5250 is using in a calculation, but you aren't. That's not what's happening. the "12x24" is an actual font name.

If you hit / (for search) followed by 12x24, you'll see that it's one of the fonts in the list. It's the name of a font installed on the system, just as -adobe-courier-bold-r-normal--34-240-100-100-m-200-iso8859-1 might be the name of a font on your system.

Of course, I don't have any way of knowing which fonts are actually installed... so there's no way I can know what the biggest font you have would be. It may be 12x24, or it may not be?

I'm not using the same OS that you are.... but I know that for my OS (FreeBSD) it's relatively easy to find and install additional fonts.
