Just a heads up... there are security vulnerabilities in that version of OpenSSL. You'd do well to upgrade it.


This fixes it. I'll take a look at putting in a configure check for this. I *think* I know what to do, but I just spent the whole night trying to figure out why configure thinks I'm using the g77 compiler. Still no clue. It compiles fine and actually gcc, but it would be nice if configure didn't say it is going to use g77.

It thinks you're using a Fortran compiler?!

I'll also see if I can figure out why --without-ssl isn't working.
