Since the flickering of x5250 drives me crazy, I decided to experiment with fixing it myself. I found that if I go into the source and comment out the two calls to XClearWindow, the flickering is completely eliminated. I haven't found anywhere that this causes problems (yet) but I haven't played much with windows or subwindows. Does anyone know if there's a reason not to remove the calls to XClearWindow? Obviously, anytime you clear the window and re-draw it, you're going to get a flicker.
