You did prompt me to look to see if anyone had used lib5250 within python and
lo and behold it's hidden in the depths of tn5250...

I'm trying to get it going, but it both proves your point that lib5250 does
everything and mine - that this is not easy to use with python, php etc.
Still if I can get it working then the hard part would be done, and it'll be
fun to play with...

The python stuff in tn5250 hasn't been working for a long time (at least not for me). I believe Jason Felice was the guy who wrote it. As Scott Klement explained to me (or at least as I understood it ;) ) you need to duplicate the main() function of tn5250.c or x5250.c and the functions in cursesterm.c or x5250term.c.

I *think* the python work that Jason did was to create python bindings which would enable python to be used with lib5250. But I'm not a python programmer and really am just guessing here. Perhaps Jason can respond?
