Probably a problem with an old autoconf package. What autoconf version are you using? (type in 'autoconf --version')

James, you were correct. Built autoconf 2.57 and now all is well. Built it and TESTREQ appears to work. Also MACROS! Thanks very much and thanks to Scott for implimenting testreq.
