I've never done this, but I might be able to get you started in the right direction if you told me what environment you're working in? i.e. are you running Linux? BSD? Windows? X11? If X11 are you using xt5250, or tn5250 in some other terminal? or gnome-5250?

I'm running Debian Linux 2.4.20, fvwm window manager, xt5250. Which is working very well with US PC keyboard. 122 kbd is critical to my company for some reason.
