So > eterm and aterm are no good :( Funny; I run: rxvt -geometry 80x25 -sb -sl 500 -ls -vb -fn 10x20 -T '<title>' -e \ tn5250 <hostname> and it works fine (though the cursor is black on black -- there must be some way to fix that without going to xterm, though).
