To get a version that new, you'll need to use CVS.
Here's how:
1) You need a few widely available utilities in order to install:
a) automake 1.3 (or later?)
b) autoconf 2.13 (or later?)
c) libtool (1.33 or later?
d) glib 1.26 (or later?)
2) Type the following to download the source code:
cvs -d ':pserver:anonymous@cvs.cleveland.lug.net:/tn5250' login
# (when it asks for a password, type "anonymous")
cvs -d ':pserver:anonymous@cvs.cleveland.lug.net:/tn5250' checkout tn5250
3) Type the following to compile:
a) cd tn5250/
b) ./autogen.sh
(some error messages may appear)
c) ./autogen.sh
(this time, there won't be any errors, if all is well)
d) ./configure
e) make
4) Assuming that all has gone well so far, you're ready to install it.
a) become root
b) cd tn5250/
c) make install
Then switch to the appropriate linux/ or freebsd/ directory and check out
the documentation on keyboard mapping. Warning: the man page for lp5250d
is out of date... :)
Good Luck!
