     Correct.  The _program_ doesn't always get control returned (say when 
     you page backwards in an expanding subfile), but the paging is still 
     handled by OS/400.  The controller/terminal is only aware of the page 
     being displayed.
     
     Back to the original question: yes, I've used tn5250 with all types of 
     subfiles, and panel group lists, and all sorts of pageable displays.  
     What is the problem exactly?

I'm not TOTALLY sure what you mean...   I'm able to run programs that
use both "page-at-a-time" subfiles as well as "preload-everything" subfiles. 
They work fine in tn5250...   
     
But...  As far as I know, the AS/400 does the paging, and just sends the 
updated screen image to the terminal (be it tn5250 or otherwise).
I'm sure Mike or Jay will correct me if I'm wrong :)  
     
So, is that what you're asking?
