  • Subject: IBM3151's and tn5250 update (good news!)

Hello again, everyone...

Well, after a couple of weeks of working on the aforementioned
problem (see posts in Feb. archive) I finally got the function keys,
arrow keys and page up/down keys to work under tn5250.

The function keys I had gotten to work before, but the arrow keys
were causing me a major problem. In a rare moment of inspiration,
I decided to change the kcuu, kcud, kcub and kcuf entries on my
terminfo from \EA, \EB, \EC and \ED to the ANSI standard of \E[A,
\E[B, \E[C and \E[D respectively. Then I used expect (a tkl
extension) to intercept the actual escape sequence from the
keyboard and to send instead the ANSI sequence. Works like a
charm!

So, I'm very happy to report that keyboard wise, everything works. I
was even able to map the PageUp and PageDown sequence onto
other keys...I just wish I could get the status line back! For a while
it would show the 5250, X SYSTEM and MW messages, but now
nothing shows. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Once again, thanks to everyone for their help...and keep up the
great work!
