  • Subject: Waiting and waiting on DSPMSG QSYSOPR

When I try to check the messages in QSYSOPR with DSPMSG QSYSOPR I very
very frequently get hung up for some reason. I can send a trace if one is
required. Its' about 53K, so I thought I'd hold off posting to the
list. Basically I'm running a redhat 6.1 install connecting to a 400
running V4R4. I simply log in, and immediately do DSPMSG QSYSOPR and get
the SYSTEM X indicator that something's happening but I can wait for hours
and nothing will happen. I usually have to bomb the session. When I sign
back on if I attempt to recover the previous session it gives me message
"cancel reply recieved for message CPF509F." I'm using tn5250-0.14.0.

I'm glad there's a FAQ, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to create the
tracefile (at least without a lot of trouble that is).
