I would agree with Dave. We have even gone all the way down to 0.10 of a processor and it works pretty well if you're just learning Linux or how it works on iSeries. If you try to bring up xwindows on a client workstation though you'll see 'less then steller' performance at that level!! Remember that you can toy with CPU allocation while the partition is active but not memory.

0.2 of a processor and 128MB of memory is fine.  You will probably need 4GB
of disk if you want to install a reasonable Linux distribution, but you can
certainly get by with less if you want to put Linux on a bit of a diet.
