Currently the iSeries is being used as a rock solid platform for Linux. OS/400 is mainly the primarily partition for the hosted linux LPARs. The main Linux functions that we are using are Samba (File/print serving), squid (web proxy), Apache/PHP (web server), MySQL (database), DHCP, sendmail, firewall and a custom document imaging application. The upcoming issue of iSeries magazine will be featuring a profile on our company and our achievements with Linux on iSeries. Should be a good read. ----------------------------------------- Len Goldenstein Network Services Geo. H. Young & Co.
