Although I've only done a bit of experimentation, my initial research
shows that Kotlin is a supported (even if not officially) language on
IBM i.

The Kotlin compiler generates JVM bytecode, so it will run anywhere
Java is supported.

Android scanners, and found I liked it a lot.

It's kind of like Java with better manners.
