Ok. But I'm not entirely clear on where I'd find it.

Not picking on you or your product, but you need to analyze this with
something external to your own product.

That makes sense, but analyze it with what?

Also verify that something in between is not stripping out some of the
traffic, or some attempt at a man in the middle proxy.

That's always been my primary hypothesis, but it doesn't explain why IBM's emulator is apparently immune to the problem.
