If you are using Scott's JDBC stuff already should be no problem. As long
as it has a JDBC Type 4 Driver, it can talk.

Hello Alan,

Thank you for that link. It gives me hope that it can be done. I forgot
to mention we don't have any Java knowledgeable programmers here, hence the
reason we're using Scott's JDBC stuff. I'm doubtful that my boss will
allow me the time to learn enough Java to figure out how to do this.
I'm hoping someone has already "invented this wheel" so I don't have to.

Thanks again,
Jay

subject: Has anyone connected to an MS Access database

Hello all,

I'm posting to the Java group since I suspect JDBC or a combination of
JDBC & ODBC would be the preferred method for connecting to a MS Access
database from RPG.
We are currently using Scott Klement's JDBCR4 routines to access MS SQL
and Oracle databases.
I've scan the Java list for the past 4 years and 'Haven't seen any mention
of MS Access.
Does anyone know how to access a Microsoft Access database from the IBM i?

We're on 7.1 and actively planning our move to 7.3. We're in the process
of updating to Java 8. I think our production system is still Java 6.

Thanks,

You need a Type 4 JDBC driver. You need to know if you can access Access
with a JDBC type 4 driver.

Found this.
