Subject: What determines the default JVM?

Folks:

I'm trying to figure out what determines the default JVM in IBM i.

On my 7.1 system, if I run JAVA *VERSION, I get 1.6.
On my 7.3 system, I get 1.8

The JAVA_HOME environment variable is *NOT* set on either system (at
the
system or job level).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

david
