Coy, thanks for the response ... as it turns out the IBM support document I
was following from the web had a typo!

They said -Djavax.net.ssl.truststore=/blah
But it should have been -Djavax.net.ssl.trust*S*tore=/blah with a capital S!

With this change, my program now works.

I contacted the responsible parties and the document has been changed
already on the web.

Sounds like you do not have all of the certs in your cert trust chain in
your certificate store. If you pulled just your cert, then you may not have
gotten all the intermediary certificates between your cert and a root CA.
Can you dump/view your store to see all of the certs?
