So, while searching for java info on 7.1 I noticed this little tidbit in
the 7.1 MTU:

<snip>
IBM also recommends clients migrate off of the IBM Technology for Java
6.0/6.2.6 product options (JV1 Option 11 & 12) before End of Support on
April 30th, 2018.
</snip>

At first I thought maybe they slipped on a 7.1 announcement (and not just
Java) but apparently there's a similar thing in the 7.2 MTU:
<snip>
Support for IBM Java™ SE 6.0/6.2.6 (5770JV1 Option 11 and 12) will be
discontinued on April 30th, 2018
</snip>
I think this was added in the November 2016 update to the 7.2 MTU.

There's a similar announcement for an older version of WAS in that same
7.2 MTU.
