Have you thought about partitioning your Power box into multiple versions
of IBM i so that you can support numerous flavors of IBM i in order to
support different customer levels?
I know that you are a "from my cold dead hands" kind of guy when it comes
to twinax and you'd have to have an HMC instead but it is something to
consider.

What kind of box do you have? IOW, if you do a
WRKHDWRSC *PRC
what do you see on the first line where I see 8286-41A?
When you do IBM i hosting IBM i, micro processor partitioning, etc, you
can often spin up new lpars with little to no additional hardware.
