... a Datastructure in reality is some binary data with a misleading name
...structure. Java hasn't such things and you would need some very ugly
jt400 components to try to translate the binary huddle to well defined
data. There is a class com.ibm.as400.access.RecordFormat, but you could put
any shist to this class, without any complaints of bad data, and it will
crash, if you would try to get a singel field of the "structur" back.
I'm following a PORDS2POJO pattern to translate a PORDS (plain old RPG
DataStructure) to a POJO (plain old Java object) encapsulating all ugly
stuff as binary data and strange converting methods of jt400. You will get
some impression, looking to the classes in the packages
de.bender_dv.ardgate.pord2pojo. You will find the sources at
http://appserver4rpg.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/appserver4rpg/appserver4rpg/src/de/bender_dv/ardgate/pords2pojo/
.
Most of the Beans are only support one direction, composing a DS from a
Java Bean or translating a DS to a Java Bean.
