This is an extension of my "Binary Character" and PM/400 queries on MIDRANGE-L.

If I look at my test file via my JDBCR4 project, I find that JDBC gives me a field length of 8 bytes for both BINCHAR and HEXADECIMAL fields, but it gives me the actual field data for those fields as 16 hex digits.

Squirrel gives the field type for the BINCHAR field as "BINARY," as does the field's entry in QSYS2/COLUMNS, which means I should be able to deal with that, but as to the Hex field, I can't tell any difference between it and the plain alphanumeric field in the SQL metadata.
