Pete,

So far, I could not find a windows version of IBM Java :

Java Platform Standard Edition (Java SE)
IBM Developer Kits and Runtime Environments are available for the following platforms:
AIX -- Downloads , Overview , Support and News
Linux® -- Downloads , Overview , Support and Tested platforms and distributions
z/OS web site , Support for zEnterprise System
IBM i web site , download Java 7 from the Entitled Software Support Site

What am I missing ?

Charles

My experience has been that if you find an incompatibility with IBM's J9 JVM then reporting it to IBM support generally gets it fixed. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later. Granted that my experience was with some JRuby
J9 issues a year or so ago and things have changed (always change) at IBM...but it is worth it to get a test case put together and get a PMR going with IBM. They are remarkable in their responsiveness (IMHO).
Have you tried the app in Windows or Linux using the IBM JVM?

Always worth it to find out whether it is an IBM i specific or J9 general issue....

Hi everyone,

I am trying to use a java program on IBMi v7.1.
I was told it can only work on Sun Java or Open Java, not on IBM Java.

Is there a way to do that ?

PS:
If you are interested, the program I am trying to install is ThoughtWorks Go Continuous Delivery.
(http://www.thoughtworks.com/products/go-continuous-delivery/) (https://github.com/gocd/gocd).
You might be interested in using it too.
Here is the current conversion where we are trying to make it work :
