Both the 32 bit Java7 JDK and the 64 bit Java7 JDK are J9 (IBM Technology for Java) development runtimes. Rule of thumb is to use the 32 bit unless you're running a really big machine using lots of objects in memory at the same time. The 64bit is better in those environments only because it can manage more memory.

I'm currently using ../jdk50/32bit for all user programs. I'm needing to
change to a later version, and I'm wondering which JDK7 to use. Is the 64-bit
just the same old Classic JVM?
