The initial situation here involves (as I understand it) a problem accessing a customer box to set up BIRT reports. So the colleagues involved fell back on Squirrel SQL.

I can easily reach both our own system, and a customer system, using Squirrel SQL 3.0, and a JT400.jar that's from December of 2003, from a WinDoze XP box (probably Java 6).

But when a colleague tries (Squirrel 3.4, Java 7, WinDoze 7), he can access our box just fine, but not the customer box, whether through my JT400.jar or a later one.

Does anybody have any insights as to what could be going wrong?
