I'm already having a lot of fun with generics. There's a big chunk of my rather large application that benefits hugely from generics. I was able to condense a bunch of code. I had used template classes in C++ so it wasn't as huge a leap for me as it is for others. I'll take a look at the book. Thanks.

I can strongly recommend Effective Java, second edition.
The generics implementation in Java (allowing you to have lists of strings and not just objects) require quite a bit of effort to learn, and Effective Java helps.
