As a developer yes it's fun to create new things, especially in .Net and Java.

However as a boss I don't always like my developers re-inventing the wheel when there are options available that may better serve our business needs :-)

Correct, it is in ASCII PCL format. I need to convert this to a PDF
file, somehow.
I am familiar with Java so it's my first option. I had hoped to find
a native process in OS/400 that can perform the conversion, but no
such luck just yet.
