Certification versus experience

Let's say that I've been out of the market for almost five years with the
economy crash and all. This after a programming and project management
career of thirty years. Now, the economy is rebounding, and I'm looking to get
back into the saddle after sitting out the last few years as a business
analyst. The assumption by employers is that my skills are too rusty. However,
they do believe that a fresh certification has some value.

So, my question is: what is the best certification for me to gather in
order to get back into the field?
