Hi
Thanks, i was also looking to create SQL stored procedure, i am trying this
from iseries navigator and getting error

SELECT COLUMN1, COLUMN8 INTO :variable1, :variable2 FROM QGPL.TABLE1 WHERE
COLUMN1 LIKE 'FILE%';

I am getting error as below, any ideas

Token : was not valid. Valid tokens: <IDENTIFIER>.

Message ID: SQL0104

Cause . . . . . : A syntax error was detected at token :. Token : is not
a valid token. A partial list of valid tokens is <IDENTIFIER>. This list
assumes that the statement is correct up to the token. The error may be
earlier in the statement, but the syntax of the statement appears to be
valid up to this point.

I think you can but indirectly. You need to specify a high-level language
for the procedure (RPG or COBOL or CL?) and that HLL could call a java
routine. I have not done this but I think there was a thread about this some
time ago.
