Hi
Our each SP will have a monitor statement and apart from resultset each SP
will return on output parameter which will have SQL code, so if the SQL code
indicates that it is a error we will call rollback from jdbc connection.

I have not heard of using commit/rollback from Java to i5. Why do you want
to commit/rollback from java client? This should be in database.
How do you know your SPs are successful?
Most of the time the resultset returns true even though you have an issue
with SP.
All your SP jobs run in specific i5 sbs, if any job goes to msgw, then you
will never know from java.
In our app, we tried to introduce timeout but that is not working.
You can monitor errors and success in your sqlrpgle and then take a
decision to commit or rollback.

Murali.

SQLRPGLE from java using JDBC

Hi

SP1, SP2 and SP3, and once they are successfull then call
connection.commit(); or connection.rollback();

I do not want to commit or rollback from stores procedure Ashish

Note, you need to really think about if you really want to call COMMIT
/ ROLLBACK in the stored procedure or not.

There's many arguments for allowing the client code to do the
COMMIT/ROLLBACK.

In your RPG, after your sql statement (update, insert, delete) (I
think
you are using embedded sql here..) you will have to get the status id
and then check the status and either do commit or rollback..
You can have sql embedded code & rpg together in sqlrpgle

You can also writer free format sql...

Hi
we are using SQL, to insert or update in files, there is no F Spec
at
all, it is all SQL.

You'd have to open the file under commitment control, use the
COMMIT keyword on the file's f-spec.

Hi
Is there any document or can anyone give any ideas if i have
bunch of
stored
procedures in RPGLE, how can i commit and rollback from java when
calling them using JDBC,

For example, we have a SQLRPGLE program which does insert into a
table,
we
create a SP with this SQLRPGLE program as external program, we
are able
to
call this SP from java using callabalestatement, Now we would
like to add commitment control, in java i would add
connection.setAutoCommit(false);,

is there anything i have to do when compiling this RPGLE program?
is
there
parameter which i have to set when creating stored procedure
