Folks:
Anyone know if there is a trick to being able to do a standard jdwp remote debug when running java code on the i?
I've added the following to my QSH command line:
-Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=Y,address=1044
But when I launch the application, I get the following error:
ERROR: JDWP option syntax error: -agentlib:jdwp=transport=dt_socket,server=y,
suspend=Y,address=1044 ["debugInit15.C",L1189]
Transport dt_socket is not supported by jdwp15. Using dt_socket5 instead.
Unable to create Java Virtual Machine.
I get the error using both the classic JVM and the 32bit JVM on a V5R4 system.
I tried changing the debug parameters to:
-interpret -agentlib:jdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=Y,address=1044'
As documented on
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/topic/rzaha/jpdebuga.htm, but I get (with the 32bit JVM):
JVMJ9TI001E Agent library jdwp:transport could not be opened (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)
JVMJ9VM015W Initialization error for library j9jvmti23(-3): JVMJ9VM009E J9VMDllMain failed
And simply a 'Unable to create Java Virtual Machine' with the classic JVM.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
