Find out if there are any security exit programs setup on the system. Remote command run is one of the services that most security systems cover.

That's a pretty old release ... while I don't think it has much to do with the performance problem, you might want to consider updating to something more current. 6.5 was recently released.

Well, it is a matter of true and tried :-)

Originally I linked against the jt400Native.jar on the system, but I had some problems in making the J9 JVM work properly(*) so I tried with the one which I used to develop this with against our V5R3 and reverted to the Classic JVM. This works for now, so I'll leave the reversion to jt400Native.jar to later when I have time to investigate why this didn't work with J9.

Regarding upgrading, sure, but not without there being a deliberate reason for it. Is there added benefit in 6.5 which outweighs replacing tried code with new one? I'm not being facetious, just curious :)


(*) For those really interested the java.library.path is constructed differently under J9, and my CHGLIBL call broke...
