The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Coming from .Net, not Java, but I would expect the same issues apply...
the advantage of implementing your own XML serialization method is that
you then have _complete_ control over the serialization process. You
don't always need that (in fact it might be rare that you do) but if
you're doing the serialization you can control which properties and
fields get serialized and in what way they get serialized. IMHO, if you
_need_ that control the program for it, else let a serialization
framework do the heavy lifting.
