You might want to look into adding a reply list entry. The commands are ADDRPLYE, CHGRPYLE or WRKRPYLE. You can add a reply to a particular message. I recently used them to automatically reply G to the message ID CPA4002. The system automatically replies and no user intervention is needed.
Thank you. I found this before, and it works well if you can be certain that the response is usable for all situations.

Unfortunately this is for the general situation where our Cobol folks would like to have a chance to evaluate if they would like to investigate before the job is told to continue, so I was trying to find a way to put the decision in my Java code (which can talk to MSN, send mail with a stack listing or look at a set of previous known cases etc).

Currently I will look into if it is the QSYSOPR message queue I should peek at.
