Issue with IFS folder

Hi
I used to move file from one IFS folder to other using

file.renameTo() function.

But it is not working in V5R3 does any one know why?

Here is the java code i used 
boolean success = fromFile.renameTo(new
File(backUpDir, fromFile.getName()));

Now it is not working,
any ideas why?
