Of course, we don't want the user to have to log on two times, once for creating the JDBC-connection, and once for creating the AS400-connection. Is it possible to create the AS400-connection 'in the background', making use of the fact that a JDBC-connection has already been established?
If you don't mind abandoning the URL method of creating a JDBC connection, you can create an create a base AS400 object to establish the connection, create an instance of AS400JDBCDriver, and use the connect(AS400 system) method to create your JDBC connection. That way you would be using a single set of credentials for the user. Alternatively, you could create your own dialog to prompt the user for the credentials and use those to create both the AS400 object and the JDBC connection. david
