Is it possible to write a one java program to create connection which will use com.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver or local driver for connection if the program is running on AS400, and use com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver if the program is running outside AS400.
Sure ... that's the nature of JDBC. As long as your SQL is generic enough, all you have to do is load the appropriate driver and specify the correct URL, you can connect to any database you want. Checkout http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/jdbc/basics/connecting.html for a good tutorial. david
