I have chosen VARPG for an application in order to maximize the investment
in the legacy RPG code. What I'm finding is that it makes sense to use
the Model View Controller concept anyway. Currently I'm replacing native
I/O with SQL so I could use a PC database as well as the iSeries. That
hurts, but it also opens up a much bigger market & allows me to maintain a
base set of code regardless of the database. I think I may be too old to
learn Java & be productive. Finding the time to devote to learning Java
is a challenge.

Java vs VisualAge RPG

Did anyone here, when going to Java, evaluate VARPG when determining
which language to use?
If so, are there any specific reasons you went to Java instead of VARPG?

I appreciate your input,
