OK. OK. I remember now. It's the odd syntax you use when you are calling a
method of an existing object:
text = getbytes(outstring);
That had my mind bent. I got it now. And for the record the prototye was:
* Get Bytes from a string for conversion to AS400 Characters
D getbytes PR 256A Varying ExtProc(*JAVA:
D 'java.lang.String':
D 'getBytes')
Maybe this will help someone else in the archives some day.
