Netbeans Profiler off the top of my head. I saw it used recently and it does track memory usage. Supposed to be good at finding memory leaks. Coy Krill Systems Analyst Whidbey Island Bank -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces+coyk=wibank.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces+coyk=wibank.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of James H H Lampert Sent: Wednesday, May 17, 2006 15:05 To: java400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Tracking down unwanted object retentions that are eating memory We have a situation in which the latest experimental version of one of our Java client programs is devouring memory like cuckoo, apparently from something retaining references to obsolete objects. Nobody here can see what could be causing it. Does anybody here have any suggestions on how to track down unwanted object retentions? The client in question works either as an application, or an applet, or as a webstart. -- JHHL -- This is the Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 (JAVA400-L) mailing list To post a message email: JAVA400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/java400-l or email: JAVA400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/java400-l. ************************************************************************ The information in this e-mail is confidential and may be legally privileged.
