how to change version of java on AS400

Hi
We have an AS400 with java 1.4.2 and java 1.3.1
installed, when i run command java *version it shows
version 1.3.1,
I have tried adding 
?/QIBM/UserData/Java400/SystemDefault.properties' with
java.version=1.4 
still does not work

What else can i do, i am sure java 1.4.2 is installed
on this system
