Remote termination of JVM? -- JAVA400-L

I have started a Java program under V5R3M0 (iirc) with this command

java ... -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=7999 ...

which I can connect to remotely from Eclipse on XP in the usual way (itreports a Classic VM), and which runs as expected. However, when I tryto terminate it from the debugger (as it runs in an infinite loop) itreports


"Unexpected error in JDWP debugLoop"

and does not terminate.

My question is how to fix this?
