In the continuing saga of WebSphere loosing applications, it also loses data sources, so I need to setup the datasource again. Problem is, I can't get it to work! I've created the data provider (tried both toolbox and native) and then created a data source under it with the correct jndi name. Then I've added the custom property of 'user' and 'password' (without the quotes) and specified the username and password. When I test the connection websphere gives me some grief about some of the properties not being valid (soLinger, maxPrecision, etc.) but none of these are the user or the password property. Also, the test says it was successful (with the aforementioned warnings). However, when I try and use the connection I get "java.sql.SQLException: The application server rejected the connection.(General security error.)DSRA0010E: SQL State = 08004, Error Code = -99,999DSRA0010E: SQL State = 08004, Error Code = -99,999" I can trace that to a message in the history log where QZDASONIT tries to process for user QEJBSVR and then in that job's joblog I see a CPIAD03 about not being able to validate the password because QEJBSVR is set to *NONE and that makes sense. What doesn't make sense is why is WebSphere ignoring my specified user and password values?
