That means "Something went wrong". It could be many things. The other information associated with the exception (description and stack trace) would provide more useful information. Such as the exact line of code where the exception was thrown. From your remark about "error code 101" it sounds like you have something that interferes with being able to see the stack trace, if that is so then I would recommend getting that turned off. You can look at the documentation for JavaMail here: http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/javadocs/ Regards PC2 -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Grizzly M Sent: August 31, 2005 12:45 To: Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 Subject: MessagingException error Can anyone tell me what would be causing me to get the following error when using JavaMail? javax.mail.MessagingException (This returns error code 101). Could it be because I'm not authenticating to the email server? I was receiving the error java.net.UnknownHostException so I changed the host name in my properties file and that was when I started to receive the messaging exception error. I can't seem to find any information for this exception. Thanks.
