RE: Send e-mail from as/400 with java - Carriage return

I have a little utility created for emailing spool files using Java mail, 
and I used the '0D25' hex code to "replace" the "~" in the message line. 
Basically, I use the ~ as a reference point for inserting the carriage 
return line feed.

I am using an RPG passing a string to a little java program... I assuming 
that i will have to use an Hex value like 0D0A but that seems to not work.

Are you using Java to compose the text to send the email, or are you just
using the JavaMail API's to send the email and are using something like 
RPG
or C to compose the email text?

If you are using Java to compose the text try using the escape character 
of
\n.  For example

String str = "Dear Alpo Dealers,\n We are pleased to announce the latest
flavor...\n Sincerely Yours,\n Alpo America.";

If the text for the email was being composed in another language on the
iSeries you would have to use the respective special character for that
language (or just use the hex values).
