Chad, By the way, I was at a customer recently that didn't want to spend the money on WSAD yet. We downloaded Eclipse 3.0 (the most recent) and I remember someone on a list mentioning a plugin for webapp development. We spent $30 on the plugin (annual fee) and WOW it was excellent. It is called MyEclipse. http://www.myeclipseide.com I had never seen it before nor do I have an affiliation to the product. I am just IMPRESSED. It had 98% of everything I use in WSAD plus a few things done better. The Struts support was miles about what is in WSAD and it includes J2EE 1.4. Just thought I would mention it... J2EE is not supported until WebSphere 6.0 which would mean that it would also not be supported in the development environment until Version 6.0 as well which has a new name: Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software. I checked this datasheet and it lists J2EE 1.4 and backward compatibility. http://www3.software.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rational/web/datasheets/rat_ app_dev_LoRes.pdf (cut and paste if necessary) Kristen -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of cornelius, chad Sent: Friday, May 20, 2005 11:14 AM To: 'Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400' Subject: RE: Development Studio Client for ISeries Kristen, We are currently using jsp 2.0 that will not run inside this version of WebSphere. It was my understanding that jsp 2.0 must run in a J2EE 1.4 application. WebSphere should be able to create a J2EE 1.4 application. Does anyone know why you cannot create a J2EE 1.4 Web Application with this version?
