Edwin, What are you running your web application inside of, WebSphere or Tomcat? Why are you trying to end the QZDASOINIT jobs? I know if you are using data sources within WebSphere, WebSphere will keep a pool of active connections open even if your application closes them, and this in turn keeps open a pool of QZDASOINIT jobs. Also it depends on how the subsystem is configured, for example we have a special subsystem set up just to run these prestart jobs which is configured to keep at least 2 QZDASOINIT running at all times. So you can kill the QZDASOINIT jobs, but as soon as you do another one appears. Having these jobs running beforehand slightly reduces the time it takes to then open up a new JDBC connection.
