You can find it out by looking at the installed licensed programs :

go licpgm , option 10

and look for 5722JV1 

The description tells you the version....

Hi
We have a situation where we need to find what version
of java is installed on AS400, the problem is i do not
have access to QSH command
Normally what i do i go in QSH and type java -version
and i get the version 
what are the other ways to find if java is installed
and what version is installed
