Hi Magne, Sorry to trouble you but you are my only hope of getting this to work. I am immensely thankful to you for your help so far and in future. Look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Rajesh Anand Tel: + (44) (0) 207 996 1152 Mob: + (44) (0) 7947273151 Email:Rajesh_anand@xxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Magne Kofoed Sent: 07 December 2004 14:35 To: Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 Subject: RE: Error creating java object Hi Rajesh, we need to see the code and qsh cmd. You must change classpath so it fit to your jar files. I am using JDK 1.4 on the iSeries. If you are using JDK 1.2, try parameter -Djava.version=1.2 before the classpath parameter (only on java cmd, not the javac cmd): java -Djava.version=1.2 classpath .:/jar/jt400.jar:/jdom/jdom- 1.0/build/jdom.jar:/jdom/jdom-contrib-1.0/build/jdom- contrib.jar raj You also have to do some changes in the java code that I sent you: 1. Change ip adr and library: Connection c = DriverManager.getConnection ("jdbc:as400://192.168.1.9/cgidev2"); 2. Change the sql command: ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(" select * from parkivp1 "); 3. Create the IFS directory /java/demo where the result xml file is created. PrintWriter pw = new PrintWriter(new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter("/java/demo/test.xml"))); Rgds, Magne Magne, Below is what you got working. I've managed to compile it but it doesn't run. Any ideas why? I'm using the same classpath name when compiling it, so why does it give me java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError This error. rgds, Rajesh Anand Email:Rajesh_anand@xxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: java400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:java400-l- bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Magne Kofoed Sent: 30 November 2004 19:00 To: Java Programming on and around the iSeries / AS400 Subject: RE: Error creating java object Hi, I did some changes and got the program working.
