A very old version of Synon is in play, and there's absolutely no way of shifting them. The code Synon generates isn't terribly efficent-- I realize that's a bottleneck. However, it's a bottleneck I cannot overcome. So, I was hoping to focus on the SQL side-- I can probably convince them to upgrade. Thanks -Ed
